8:30 and started the hike around 8:35 AM. Temps would be at or above freezing when we started and would be in the high 40's when we finished this hike.

It was a beautiful day for a hike. The trail was dirt and gravel. The area around the trail had been mowed. We hiked the purple, green, yellow, blue and yellow trails as part of our loop. We did not see any horses but were either passed from behind or ahead by six or seven bicycles. All the cyclists were very nice as we stepped off the trail to let them by.

and forth the way that the bicyclists like. I believe that we saw only one other hiker on our journey today. We had some nice conversations along the way. We were done by 10:30 AM and back in Manassas, VA before 11:00 AM.

This was a nice trail. It's hard to fathum that this was once a prison and is now a park. We saw evidence that this was the case from the old silos and other buildings. I'm glad that is is now being used for recreational purposes. There are other trails within this park as well as close by. We'll just have to explore them all!
