We lost 2 Automotive Industry Greats This Week
We lost 2 automotive industry greats this week. On Tuesday, July 24, 2018, FCA chairman and CEO Sergio Marchione died of a brain aneurysm. He was 66. And on Thursday, July 26, 2018, Washington Post auto critic Warren Brown died of kidney failure at age 70.
I enjoyed following both of these individuals via various publications. Marchione was very charismatic, outspoken and saved both Fiat and Chrysler from oblivion. And Brown had written auto columns for the Washington Post for about 30 years. i didn t always agree with him but his columns were interesting.
I was very sad at their passing. But I was also aware that both of these gentlemen were not much older than me. It made me stop and think that life is short. You should learn, explore, enjoy and give back as much as you can. Because tomorrow may never come. Both of these men were distinguished in their career. RIP, my fellow car guys .
